The Butterfly Project

Contradictory to what you might be thinking, the Butterfly Project doesn't involve bugs. The Butterfly Project is a way to deal with emotional issues that may lead to self harm, or "cutting". To participate in the Butterfly Project all you have to do is draw a butterfly where ever you "cut", and if you don't "cut" you just draw one on the inside of your wrist to show your support! Nifty, huh? The point of the butterfly is to represent something living and beautiful. If you're feeling down or depressed and try to cut, you hurt the butterfly. The butterfly can be colored or designed any way you want, can be named after someone you care about, and it can represent anything you desire (a dream, a friend, a plan for the future, love, hope, etc.). While I don't approve of self harm to begin with, I fully support the Butterfly Project for trying to help people overcome it. I hope to see lots of butterflies around. Support the cause. ♥
